Wintersville Baptist Temple started in the Wintersville Fire Station with a small group of believers that wanted to learn more about Jesus Christ.

   As they grew, the land that now holds the church was purchased and the ground was dedicated for the use of the Lord. Rev. Ralph Wingate Sr., who served as Pastor for over 13 years, opened the doors of the new building on Easter Sunday 1964. The congregation grew rapidly during the era of the steel mills and a larger auditorium was added in 1968. Though all but a few of the mills have closed and families have moved away, Wintersville Baptist Temple has survived by the grace of God.

   When Wintersville Baptist Temple began, it was committed to believing and teaching the truth of God's Word. Today, this foundational belief continues.  In every aspect of our ministry, we strive to help all ages understand what the Bible has to say about today's issues and how it can be applied to each person's life.
